  1. why isnt this game ported to ios and android? it looks like a really fun game to play on a tablet.

Comment by Mico on September 9, 2012 at 9:01 am

  2. The answer to the ‘why’ is that we’re just finishing up the game now. We hope to get it onto tablets eventually.

  7. What will the methods of payment be for your site? Will it only be PayPal? I’d love to support you guys directly (the Linux version is one of the reasons), but I’d rather not have to create an account with a 3rd party (like PayPal).

Comment by MrJack on September 9, 2012 at 3:15 pm

  8. Which method will you guys profit most from? I assume it would be from your website?

Comment by Nick on September 9, 2012 at 3:23 pm

  9. And Europeans get screwed over again. Bastardos.

Comment by NCargol on September 9, 2012 at 3:44 pm

  10. What is up with the steam prices. Can you please explain this?
€9.99 and $9,99. Why do we europeans get screwed over on again on steam. Is it their policy? Either way, I’m going to buy it on your site anyway.

Comment by Melvin on September 9, 2012 at 8:19 pm

  11. 10 euro’s is not the same as 10 USD! 10 USD is 7,80 euro’s! This means I’ll be paying 2 euro’s more than American citizens, and even worse, for full games Europeans pay 15 euro’s more! (at a value of 60 USD).

Comment by Aaron on September 9, 2012 at 8:36 pm

  12. Yes I would also like to know which method will net you guys the most profit.

Comment by justln on September 9, 2012 at 9:24 pm

  13. Hey. Could you maybe make a demo for it on steam?

Comment by Nick on September 9, 2012 at 11:39 pm

  14. I got the game already as a Kickstarter backer, and I gotta tell you, FTL is thoroughly badass! It has scratched an itch I’ve had for a long time. I can’t wait to see what else they might do with the title- DLC’s, Sequels, mobile ports, modding tools?

Comment by Ryan on September 10, 2012 at 12:40 am

  15. It fucking well sayd you can buy it on this website for ten bucks and you’ll get a steam key.

retards, these guys are actually doing something to circumvent steam’s idiocy.

Comment by anon on September 10, 2012 at 12:50 am

  16. I’m looking forward to buy this game on friday. But i’m an european as well, additionally a guy from Switzerland, so i get screwed twice… Once from Steam with their 9,99€ and once from simply changing my swiss francs into €uros. Because of this, i have a little question. Will it be possible to pay with paysafecard on your website? If not, i have no chice, but to get it on steam.

Comment by BendixY on September 10, 2012 at 1:38 am

  17. Reason why EU pays that much more is because we, in general, have 20-25% VAT.. Blame EU, not these guys :P

Comment by Detocroix on September 10, 2012 at 2:19 am

  18. I will love to see that on Android :)

Comment by Lukasz on September 10, 2012 at 2:25 am

  19. Oh my fellow europeans.. will you never realize that the reason the euro price is the same number as the USD price is because of VAT.
You are European.. you pay more taxes.. get over it. or get around it by buying from this website.

Comment by I_R_Orc_Peon on September 10, 2012 at 3:53 am

  20. To all Europeans here: Don’t moan about the 9.99€. FTL IS a great game. I got it already (via Kickstarter) and it makes more fun than most of the whole AAA titles out there.

Comment by Klaus on September 10, 2012 at 4:40 am

  21. Missed the Kickstart, but frigging happy to see this about to be released soon.

$9.99? Hell yeah I’m getting it!

Comment by UberFu on September 10, 2012 at 5:08 am

  22. $10 USD… SOLD, and thank you for releasing the game at a budget price. I usually wait for the price on most games to drop at least once before I buy… I’ll be getting this on on it’s release date.

Comment by Ian on September 10, 2012 at 5:56 am

  23. what’s that? Buy DRM-free from the site and get a steam key along with the download?…

    …or buy it DRM-free off GOG.com, a site I’m all about supporting?

    AUGH, CHOICES.

    I will manage, somehow.

Comment by wanderingbishop on September 10, 2012 at 10:28 am

  24. Well i do understand the euros for complaining about steam prices.

Just a example for Germany (since i am from there).
Ths US price is always labled without any taxes.
Current conversion rate is 1 USD = 0,782288978 Euros
    9.99 USD = 7,82 Euros
    We pay 19% VAT.
    7.82 Euros * 1.19 = 9,31 Euros
So 9,31 would be the fair price for me.

I don’t really care abot this little difference but i do understand why euros are complaining. We are getting the shaft on steam a lot.

I will be buying through thss website to support the devs the best i can.

Comment by Pat on September 11, 2012 at 6:22 am

  31. Wow, really europeans?
Hi, I’m from Australia, $60US for AAA somehow converts to $100-$120AUS despite having comparable dollar, suck it up, buy this game and love it >=[

Comment by Fima on September 11, 2012 at 12:03 pm

  32. If I buy from your website, there won’t be a region price, will there? Meaning I get the game in Steam for ~7€ ($9,99 – 10% off -> euros)?

Comment by sipi on September 11, 2012 at 8:08 pm

  33. Any chance of the Gog.com bonuses being available for us folk that preorder directly from you guys?

Comment by ShadyJ on September 12, 2012 at 7:31 am

  35. can you guys do a cross-promotion with team fortress 2, like a free item in there game for like people who buy the game the first week it’s out

Comment by Ryanustis on September 12, 2012 at 10:18 am

  36. Ahem. As soon as I posted that… they posted the game on Steam. Disregard….

Comment by ShadyJ on September 12, 2012 at 12:10 pm

  37. I would easily pay $20-$30 USD for this game. Try not to complain to the Devs about such a small difference. It is out of their hands and the fact that they developed and released this game to us is more than enough

Comment by Dagger33 on September 13, 2012 at 12:04 am

  38. Oh yay Steam….. Nty… I shall purchase it off GoG and get a DRM free copy which won’t screw me over if my internet goes off…

Comment by Nerdsinsc on September 13, 2012 at 12:08 am

  39. I am looking forward to this game a LOT! I just cant wait… And yeah, I won’t buy it on Steam because of it’s unfair prices. I will buy it right from your website :) Wish i had known about kickstarter, I would have this game earlier. I’m really looking forward to it!

Comment by Eomi on September 13, 2012 at 2:57 am

  40. As i want to support you guys as much as possible but i also want the soundtrack and so from gog.com. Is there a chance we who buy it on the site can get the gog stuff so we can also support you guys as much as possible while not loosing stuff?

Comment by Wh1t3f4ng on September 13, 2012 at 5:59 am

  41. This is fucking bullshit. 9.99 dollars does NOT equal 9.99 euros. If you insist on such unfair pricing, I will pirate your game instead of buying it. Was so looking forward to this, but now I am disappointed. I guess even indie devs can be total assholes.

Comment by gtrsgsgdr on September 13, 2012 at 6:24 am

Comment by Miroku2235 on September 13, 2012 at 7:55 am

  43. What method profits the authors the most? I love me some Steam, but will gladly buy here or on GOG, however you make the best money.

Comment by Frawg on September 13, 2012 at 8:18 am

  44. Hmm, Let’s see. A Mac version at launch and a no DRM version. Okay, this is a must buy. Well done, sirs, well done. I shall return to give you my money upon launch.

Comment by gnomeking on September 13, 2012 at 8:36 am

  45. I’m with the other guys wondering if the GOG bonuses might also be made available via direct purchase as well. I’d much rather buy it directly
from here, buy I would really like to get my hands on that artwork and the OST especially. Of course, if the GOG route nets you more profit somehow AND we get the bonuses, I’ll gladly buy it there instead…

  46. Been waiting for this since I miss the Kickstarter ( don t even know this website exist during your campaign ). For what i saw, great game guys, great job, and as the penny arcade report said, you were realistic without asking million dollar ( star command effect ) to finish the game! I ll buy it from your website as I think you ll receive much money ! Hope to see this game evolve or a new project merge from it !

Comment by Zangdar on September 13, 2012 at 3:38 pm

  47. Seriously? Some of you are going to get all uppity about a few dollars/euros?

Grow up. Australian’s are the worst off. We routinely get screwed over on all forms of both digital and hard copy media. We get charged AU$120 for a brand new AAA Xbox or Playstation game. We get screwed through Steam when compared to other companies. We pay 10% more through iTunes than every other country, even though the delivery and overheads are exactly the same. The only time you can get a good deal in this country is if you live in the city near a JB-HIFI store. Anywhere else and you ARE going to be paying through the nose.

    Spoiled kids. Grow up.

  48. Guys complaining about the steam prices, please note :

    1. The wording of the announcement :

“It will have the standard Steam conversions of £6.99 / €9.99 / 249 rubles / $7.99 in CIS territories.”

This is not the games creators CHOICE, this is a Valve/Steam thing. This is the standard pricing for ALL Steam products that sell for $9.99 and there is nothing these guys can do about it.

    2. If you want to buy the game for $9.99 and you live in Europe YOU CAN, through the website here, and you are provided with a non region locked Steam key. So you pay the same as everyone else.

Comment by Fraser on September 13, 2012 at 5:44 pm

  49. I don’t think I’m going to make it till release date tomorrow.

Comment by Alan on September 13, 2012 at 6:09 pm

  50. Where is the game? It is already Friday in Samoa (03:12 am) and no game! :(

Comment by stanleyman on September 13, 2012 at 10:13 pm

  51. @41 You are right about € != $ and that the price policy of steam sucks. But see that is the real problem, steam dictates the region pricing not the indy developers themselfs.
If you do not want to buy from steam, thats fine you are offered two alternative ways to buy this game. Just go ahead and pick it up from gog with some bonus or if you still want the steam key buy it directly from the developers for the price in dollar.

  53. 1. I’m european and if you don’t like the steam conversion rate just buy it on this site or GOG like I will, paypal will give you the correct conversion from dollars.
    2. The australians need to understand though that the amount of people that are affected by the euro difference is 738 million whereas there are only 22 million people in australia, ofc there are alot more people going to complain about the euros being screwed over than there will be australians.

  56. Ya, seems perfectly suited for tablet gaming, and i certainly would buy it without a doubt for my tablet. I hope that the sales will be enough that you consider making a FTL 2 in the future. Congratulations on your launch!

  60. Wow, I just now found out about this game, I wish I could have donated to the kick starter. Oh well, at least it will be on 10% steam sale for a week. I’m a huge fan of rogue-likes but so many of them are just the same generic dungeon runner over and over again. This looks like an AMAZING twist on the rogue-like genre and I’m definitely buying it as soon as it is released.

Will the devs allow for user-created content over the Steam Workshop? I can only imagine that would make the game infinite times better than it already will be.

  61. I haven’t been hooked by a game this much in a LONG time, more addictive than most AAA games, reminds me of UFO Enemy Unknown in many ways. And it needs to be ported to Android, as others said, would work very well on tablets and make long journeys fly by! :D I would pay again.

  65. Yeah, I bought it on Linux, but would LOVE to be able play it on my android tablet!

As a workaround, I’m trying to use Splashtop, but that means I’m forced to use Windows :( At least until a ST streamer for Linux is released.

And even then, there’s something funny going on with the resolution, a portion gets cut off on my tablet no matter what I try…

So… Android version please :-D I would gladly pay again to have this.
