Game freezing before EVERY event! So frustrating! HELP!

Hi all. I searched and googled the solution but had no luck, hope somebody here could help,

Since few days game start freezing every damn time an event ends and before let me jump to next node. It is very frustrating and maddening wait about 5 or more seconds until game decides work fine again. Freezing is only during the end of events when I get (or lose) scrap and so. I tried to verify the cache files, uninstalling and reinstalling even install in another HDD (3 different HDD) but during this freeze, I hear one of my HDD working a lot and light on the atx flashes very fast. I have a new GPU but I think this is not the cause due is better than the old one and the game requeriments are not high. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I get the same issue. It happens when I start a game, and sometimes every click, sometimes only after the events on screen. Tried updating drivers, but no success... I tried a... less than legit version of FTL and it worked fine. Seems to be only my steam version.

I don't know why, but sometimes doesn't have any freeze. Then, other times starts to freeze every time again. I have Steam version as well...

As I don't want the glory I must tell the solution was found for an user called "Master Roshi" on a post I opened on Steam. It seems this is caused by Avast. Just uninstall the "game mode" components under settings. Hope it helps in a future if somebody find this searching for a solution or if someone followed this post.
