I have a 3rd gen ipad (not mini) and after app switching, the sound is completely gone from FTL. Reloading does nothing. Close all apps and reload does nothing.
Any ideas ?
I installed the patch today and had sound for about ten minutes before this problem occurred.

Same here. I have an iPad mini and there is no sound since I installed the update.

Try restarting the iPad after closing all recent apps. Also, I know it's silly, but check the mute switch toggle. And if you have the mute switch toggle set to control screen lock, turn it back to control mute and try muting/unmuting then running FTL again.

We're still working on this I guess, very sorry for the troubles.

I have just downloaded FTL for iPad (3rd gen) and have no sound whatsoever. Tried everything. Really frustrating!

Odd possible workaround:

Force quit FTL, then open the Music App and play anything, then force close the music app and try FTL again. You can force close apps by double tapping on the home button and swiping them off the list.

Sliding the mute trigger back and forth resolved the issue for me. iPad Retina (4th gen)

Any fix for this in the foreseeable future? Its RNG to get the game to load with sound, and this game must be played with it. Got ipad air and problem is problematic since the patch.

We're putting together another update with more bug fixes, and that will include some changes to the audio. In the mean time, that second work-around I posted should be a reliable fix if the game launches without sound currently.

Wow! Way back in April and still no fix? I got an iPad Air. No sound, tried your tricks listed here. Nothing works.
