FTL crashes my video card drivers.

Hey all, I couldn't find a resolution to this on any of the support websites yet, so here I am.
I bought FTL two days ago. Enjoyed the crap out of it the first day, started running into problems the second day. When I ran it, I'd get strange artifacting on my second display. After a while, the game full-on lost any coherent display (game was running in my main monitor)). Closed it, re-started, and my graphics driver crashed and had to restart. FTL locked up as well. Restarted my computer, ran it again, and then it gave Windows an error that I have never seen before - which is exceedingly strange, as I work in tech support. According to my error log, my Local Security Authority service stopped working, which caused windows to have to restart itself. I left the computer alone for a little while after this, then came back to try again. After this point, all I got was an "OpenGL - too many errors" error at some point during the loading process, and that's progressed until today.
TL;DR
1) Artifacting on my second monitor
2) Video card driver crashing
3) Windows LiveKernelEvent error
4) OpenGL - too many errors
I have:
1) Updated my graphics card drivers - newest nVidia GeForce GTX560 drivers
2) Run memory diagnostics - two and a half passes of Memtest86+, no errors
3) checked my GPU temperatures - ~40 degrees Celsius idle, ~60 with medium load.
I will be running a full system diagnostic for the next little while. In the meantime, any help you folks could give me would be wicked.
