So. I've been trying to unlock some of the other ships (that Boss kills me every time with the first 2). I've been doing the saving by copying the continue file trick, but I can't quite figure out how the main galaxy sector map is generated.
Is the big galaxy map (the one with the colored dots) generated when you first start a game, or is it generated at some other time like when you first try to jump out of the starting sector?
Similarly, does anyone know if there're any factors which you can choose that will influence how it comes out? Like say picking a Mantis ship making mantis systems rarer?
