I know not of any readjustment thing, but if you save your top scores and if you want, your stats (as in record what they are elsewhere), then you could use the FTL profile editor to edit your scores and (I think) your stats if you want.
This isn't something related to this mod, just applicable for all score-boosting type mods, so if you really care about your high scores (don't worry, we all do, just to varying degrees) you can edit them. just make sure to create a backup which I detail how to do below.

if you want to do this as the alternative, then create a backup of your save game.
step 1. locate your save files.
on windows at least, this is under ~\Documents\My Games\FasterThanLight
it must be something similar on other operating systems.
step 2. create a copy of the save files.
I usually just copy the whole "FasterThanLight" folder and save it somewhere where it can't be erased accidentally and is safe, etc. just name it backup or something. make sure the copy is actually safe and is okay because in the next step
(if you just wanted to create a backup in case something gets corrupted, then skip this next step. If you wanted to start a new save file that's exactly what this step is.)
step 3. erase the contents of the FasterThanLight folder. I cannot stress how important the copy of the save files is because of what it contains: a sort of record of all your progress, be it session records, or ships unlocked or also high scores on every type of every ship. Anyways, once you delete the contents, when you restart the game, you will have no progress like you wanted
