On Windows, you double-click either "modman_admin.exe" (most likely) or "modman.exe".
If Java has been installed, that exe will know find whichever one it likes.
JRE is the basic runtime needed to run Java apps.
JDK is a copy of JRE, plus developer tools like the compiler.
Either can be used to run stuff.
"java.exe" is how one would explicitly run java against an app (*.jar or *.class file) with a terminal window.
"javaw.exe" is how one would explicitly run java against an app with NO visible terminal window.
The only difference is whether you get to see that window.
Slipstream comes with its own exe's, so you don't need to worry about that.
