If you name your file *.append, it will simply take the content of your * and put it BEHIND the content of the original *.
For coding, you can simply edit (f.e.) the blueprint.xml to your like. Once you're done, you take ALL new or changed events/weapons and put them into a blueprint.xml.append file.
